The Reco Lab specialises in luxury restoration in Australia. This includes repair of designer handbags, luxury shoe repairs, and aftercare of leather goods with the discretion and precision they deserve. Behind every piece is craftsmanship and behind our work are artisans with over 50 years of combined experience in high-end leather restoration and technical repair.
Our team has trained across Australia, Italy, France, China, and Thailand, bringing together traditional leather techniques and contemporary restoration methods. The result is a refined, detail-led approach to designer bag repair and leather restoration that honours original construction.
We source our specialised materials globally; from Italy and France to Taiwan, Portugal, Thailand, Australia, China, and India. Each product is selected not for convenience, but for compatibility with fine leathers, luxury finishes, and delicate hardware. Restoration, when done properly, is a science as much as an art.
The Reco Lab was founded by a lifelong luxury collector; an unapologetic admirer of heritage maisons and beautifully made pieces. Having personally relied on restoration services for her own collection, she understood the vulnerability involved in entrusting a treasured item to someone else. That perspective shaped our ethos: thoughtful assessment, modern communication and logistics, as well as outcomes designed for longevity.

I am absolutely over the moon with the results. The repair work is completely seamless and utilises the original stitching holes, while the cleaning has removed the majority of the stains without compromising the bag’s integrity.
